It hasn’t been just here, I haven’t really been posting anywhere this fall.

Oh well, whatever.  Anyway, just a note to say I’m not dead.

We moved around a bit when I was a kid, but I spent 3 years in Grafton, Vermont. When looking back at my childhood, those three years have always been my favorite.  Yesterday, Hurricane Irene ripped through Vermont, and Grafton was hard it.  These videos, by Bryce LeVan Cushing, show some of the damage.  It appears that tow of the roads that lead into town (of which there are only four), have been washed away.  Homes I used to ride my bike past on the way to school are gone.  One of the towns historic covered bridges were swept downstream and destroyed.

Though I haven’t been back to Vermont in about 7 years, these videos really depressed me.  So, on that note, I’m going to share them all with you now.

I’ve been playing with my camera more and more these days, and I’ve come to the conclusion that the thing I like taking pictures of the most, is people.

BUT… I don’t have anyone to take pictures of. My wife refuses, my kids don’t have the patience, and I don’t have any friends who would do it.

So, I thought I would turn to turn to the internet, but… Well, how do I do this without sound like a pervert?

My idea is to place a post on Craigslist stating something like “Wanted, a model to pose for me. I’m an amateur photographer who wants to take pictures of people, and I am looking for willing models to work for me. This is a non paying gig, but I will give you copies of all the photos taken.” -or something like that. See what I mean, sounds like I’m some creep, right?

Maybe if I came up with some other wording? Maybe if I went into a detailed explanation of my situation? But really, if I make it too long, no one is going to read it. (This is the internet after all. No one reads anything more then 6 sentences. Or so that’s my theory. Which said, makes me doubt that anyone is still reading this.)

Anyway, if anyone has any advice, please let me know what it is. I would greatly appreciate it.

This new “ultimate nexus of all things Timothy Patrick McMahon Online” allows me to keep this site going, still run my Tumblr, and not feel guilty about having to choose one site over the other as the official home of TimothyPatrickMcMahon.com.  They’re my babies, I can’t pick a favorite!  (is it odd that I would grapple with this dilemma and actually feel guilt about such a thing?)

I’ve been spending more and more time on Tumblr.  And by time, I also mean I am posting more and more stuff on Tumblr.  Tumblr is becoming my “real” site, more then this page is.

So, I’m debating weather or not I need to redirect TimothyPatrickMcMahon.com over to my Tumblr site for good.  I would love to, but, I don’t want to lose all the junk I’ve already posted here.  However, i get much more traffic over on Tumblr then I do here.

I have been double posting, putting the same stuff up on both sites, but I’m kinda getting sick of doing that.

What to do, what to do…

(Not that any of this really matters, it’s only important in my head and no where else.)

Anyway, just thinking out loud.  I’ll make up my mind soon.
